Deadline for Submissions is February 28, 2023

The Poetry OmniBus is a local juried poetry contest in Juneau, Alaska. Selected poems will have the honor of being displayed on city buses for one year.  Write a poem, then ride the bus — be inspired, entertained, delighted, or moved to tears by your community!

Entries welcome from fist-time poets, lifelong writers, and other thinkers of deep thoughts.

Separate categories for Adults and Youth (ages 8 to 17).  20 adult and 16 youth poems will be selected.  The submission period for the program is from January through February 28, 2023, with a celebration ceremony in April.

Rules

ONE ENTRY PER PERSON

All entries must be:
•Submitted via the online entry form.
•Ten line or less (including stanza breaks).
•Original poems by the contestant.
•Appropriate for public display.

All entries must include:
•An email address for the entrant;
•Author’s name and age category;
•A title.

Agreements

•By entering the contest, poets authorize Poetry OmniBus to display and publish all entries.
•Judge selections are final.
•Poems selected for display on Capital Transit buses will be read at the presentation ceremony.
•Only Juneau Residents are eligible to participate.
